‘Culmination of digital dentistry’ demonstrated in clinical settings

“I wish to offer only wonderful memories of being able to smile brightly to the patients through the use of ‘DIOnavi.’, which is the best quick and safe surgical method following the 3D computer simulation surgery.”

Dr. Ju-Hee Lee, director of Midam Dental Clinic, who is presenting the joy of chewing to the patients by recently expanding her dental clinic, is a user who has been implementing ‘DIOnavi.’ in her practice in the initial stage of its launch by DIO. As such, Dr. Lee, who is on her 12th year of dental practice, is one of the clinicians who have been continuously utilizing digital treatment with great deal of interest for long time.
He introduced ‘TRIOS’, an oral scanner, in his practice since DIO launched the product in earnest and is now using ‘DIOnavi.’ that covers all clinical areas for which digitalization was not possible previously.

Excitement towards new technologies
“Introduction of digital dentistry? I had strong desire towards it since I began my practice. However, I was not able to implement it in my practice readily due to the ensuing financial burden. Around 2012, I came to believe ‘it is appropriate time to utilize digital dentistry’ and took up the challenge of implementing this new area.”
However, even when he decided to commence procedures by using ‘DIOnavi.’, a navigation implant procedure, there were a lot of concerns from his colleagues in dentistry.
He explained that, “There were advices from my colleagues that there is no problem in the traditional method that has been used until now and that there would be a lot of cumbersome experiences when I first execute guided surgery,” and that, “However, as I became familiar and proficient with procedures using ‘DIOnavi.’, I occasionally feel uneasy about the traditional implant embedding technique.”
Dr. Lee is executing guided surgery through the use of ‘DIOnavi.’ in most cases with the exception of the patients who are concerned about the costs involved and cases that required general surgery. He is able to approach surgery with utmost comfortable and serene state of mind since she personally acquires dental impression data through 3D scanning and establishing plans by making accurate diagnosis and designing the necessary prosthesis.
Recommend ‘DIOnavi.’ confidently
‘DIOnavi.’ is capable of reducing errors through production of guides customized for the patients by using precision oral 3D printer for the embedding of the implant. Implant is embedded with the position and angles planned at the simulation stage by utilizing the customized surgery induction device manufactured and the final prosthesis that maximally considers the balance and occlusion with the neighboring teeth is installed.
Dr. Lee commented recently, “In the case of general surgery, there are situations in which duration of surgery is prolonged or cannot be predicted. However, it is quite rare that the navigation surgery exceeds the anticipated duration, making it convenient for both the patient and the surgeon, “and that, “My consulting staff also recommend guided surgery with confidence to my patients due to ease of establishment of relationship with and post-surgery care of patients.”
‘DIOnavi.’ is one of the methods aimed at patients who want implant procedure that is not painful for those in the age range of 40’s to 80’s rather than for specific age brackets.
As a digital implant technique to assess the position of embedding in advance thorough mock simulation, it has also won the trust of patients since they can view the surgical procedures in accordance with their conditions.
Firming up the treatment philosophy through the implementation of ‘DIOnavi.’
Dr. Lee’s treatment philosophy is to provide ‘treatment to patient that is least painful’.
He stated, “Although I focused only on high quality treatment, I now have the new goal of satisfying the desire of the patients to undergo surgery without pain after more than 10 years of practice,” and that, “Outcome of surgery that can be used for prolonged period of time through meticulous procedures is a fundamental mission of all dentists. Now, I am focusing on treatments that are least painful to patients to fulfill their desires.”
He added, “Nowadays, I experience fulfillment as a dentist when I see patients who managed to gain weight slightly when they visit me for follow-up examination after the surgery,” and also, “I assertively recommend ‘DIOnavi.’ since it is the culmination of ‘digital dentistry’ for embedding of the actual product in the most ideal location discerned by the dentist.”
