Korea 25 Nov, 2022

The birth of a new abutment system
DIO is drawing attention from the dental world by introducing a new Abutment System. DIO presented the newly developed 'ECO Abutment' and '2-Channel Abutment' at the '2022 Yeongnam International Scientific Congress & Dental Exhibition (YESDEX 2022)' held at the BEXCO 2nd Exhibition Center in Busan on November 12-13. It was introduced for the first time and attracted a lot of Interests.
Even the final prosthesis fastening without separation of the abutment!
DIO's 'ECO Abutment' is a system that can complete effective treatment according to the surgeon's prosthetic plan through the combination of various upper components in a way that replaces the upper components without separation after connecting the base abutment.
The special reason for ‘ECO Abutment’ is that it has no need to replace and separate from fixture, the soft tissue is protected and the optimal gingival shape is continuously maintained. ‘ECO Abutment’ that enhances the long-term safety of implant prosthesis.
In addition, the full digital prosthetic method is convenient for maintenance and remanufacturing, and with the cement free type, the hassle of cement adhesion and removal of residual cement can be omitted, leading to a reduction in treatment time, which is good for both surgeons and patients. can give you patients.
Aesthetics and safety at the same time
Following the ‘ECO Abutment’, DIO developed ‘2-Channel Abutment’ one after another and established various upper lineups.
Usually, screw-type prostheses are selected for maintenance in the case of anterior or posterior prosthesis, but a screw hole is created on the cusp surface of the crown, resulting in chipping, or the screw hole is visible to the naked eye, resulting in poor aesthetics.
However, DIO developed a '2-Channel Abutment' that can create a screw hole at a desired location at an angle of 0 to 25° using a library regardless of the implant placement direction, and made it possible to manufacture aesthetic and easy-to-maintain prosthetics. In the case of anterior teeth, screw holes can be created on the palatal surface to ensure aesthetics. In the case posterior teeth, prosthetic safety can be secured by creating screw holes in the center to prevent chipping of the crown.
In addition, one of the characteristics of the ‘2-Channel Abutment’ is that it guarantees a reliable tightening torque with a stable screw and driver that can apply up to 35 Ncm of tightening torque even at an angle of 0 to 25°.
Sang-oh Park, Director of DIO Technology Center, said, “The newly developed ‘ECO Abutment’ and ‘2-Channel Abutment’ are innovative systems that enable patients to use stable and long-term implants, and for surgeons to gain the convenience of maintenance and trust from patients. We will spread the excellence of the new DIO Abutment in the future.”
